However, most are cyclical where there business is comparatively better suited to some economic and in turn share market phases then others. The impacts are driven by both local and global economics. These factors influence earnings which in turn can impact divided payouts. Such cash flows underlie the fundamental value of a company which in combination with “emotion” drives the share price. The challenge is to understand a company’s comparative price performance in various economic and share market cycles. Business articles provide coverage on the subject but often it is company specific or sector generic. Not exactly a basis to drive a share strategy. |
