Performance measurements provide an historical insight of a company's results. Measurements can cover both a company's financials and share price. Benchmarks can be used to consider relative performance of a company to its index groupings. Different time horizons may be used to consider performance trends.

The total return of a company:

• Is a measurement of the percentage increase in the value of a shareholder's investment in the company's shares, assuming reinvestment of dividends. It is calculated on a pre-tax basis;
• Underlies the assessment of a shares fundamental value; and
• Provides a snap shot of a company's financials.

The top 20 shareholders:

• Represents the percentage of the company's shares held by the 20 largest shareholders. It can provide an indication of a company's liquidity. A high figure will often mean that there is less stock available for trading.
• Illustrates how the liquidity of a share impacts the size of trades that can be executed on a timely basis. Liquidity is not simply about market capitalisation but also the concentration of share ownership. Volume of share trades provides an insight to liquidity.

• Compares closing prices across various periods covering the minimum, maximum and average for each of the periods.
• Is a simple but insightful view of price trends.
• May flag investment opportunities meriting a more detailed review.
