Price Bands

Price bands table screenshot

Price Bands are calculated by accumulating all occurrences of a price that a share has traded at in a given period (7, 30, 60, 90 and 180 days). The median of all of these prices is displayed as a Price Band of 0.

Then, at set distances of plus and minus 10%, 20% and 45% of price occurrences, Market Shares displays the:

  • relative share price,
  • last date that the price occurred,
  • number of occurrences, and
  • percentage of occurrences.

Two methods of Price Bands are provided; unweighted (no volume considerations) and weighted by volume (sensitive to volume of each price traded).

Graphs are provided with drop down options for 7, 30, 60, 90 and 180 days. Arrows on the “X’ axis indicate their relevant band values. Depending on price variance, these arrows are regularly hidden behind others.

The detail of a company’s Price Bands together with the results of the Price Holding Ranges table may assist you in determining the timing of a trade.
