HVN's H104 result continued the strong performance of the group, benefitting from strong housing growth, consumer adoption of new technology and the store expansion programme. Consolidated sales revenue increased 17.1% to $581.9m for H104. NPAT rose 20.2% to $94.3m. EPS increased 20.2% to 9.83 cents and DPS increased 20% to 3 cents.As a retailer and franchise operator of homewears and electrical equipment, HVN benefits from strong housing growth and adoption of new technology, such as digital cameras and videos and DVD players. The franchise sales mix in H104 was electrical, 45%, computers, 28%, furniture 22% and other, 5%. HVN is beginning to expand beyond Australia and New Zealand with new store openings in Slovenia and Ireland adding to core growth in store numbers in Australia and New Zealand. Management expect continued growth in store owned and franchised outlets to incrementally add to revenues and earnings. Investments in controlled entities now consitite a meaningful contribution to group profit. |
